What we have done
- We submitted a planning application to Oxford City Council in July 2025
- We carried out two pre-planning application public consultation exercises in September 2024 and December 2024
- We submitted a Strategic Outline Case (SOC) to NHS England in 2025
- We’ve communicated with our neighbours and will continue to keep them informed
- Our local MPs and councillors know what our plans are
- Staff are involved in the design and planning of future services for the new hospital
- We are also working with people with lived experience to ensure the hospital is designed and used for maximum therapeutic benefit
What happens next?
- Oxford City Council is currently considering our planning application and a final decision be made by the council’s Planning Committee on 21 April
- Work continues to secure government funding for the new hospital
- Subject to planning approval, we will begin work on the detailed designs.
